Gas Heater Sizing Guide

Everyone wants to extend their swimming season. So why not install a gas heater. Calculate what size heater you require for your swimming pool and how little it will cost you each month to operate.

Step 1 - Location
* Selection Guide is approximate only. Humidity, sunshine, wind, temperature, soil conditions all affect the heat loss and gain in a swimming pool.
Step 2 - Pool Size
Step 3 - Swimming Temperature
* Generally, 26 degrees C is considered the minimum comfortable swimming temperature
Step 4 - Heat Up Time
* Unlike Heat Pumps or Solar, gas heaters have the capacity to heat fast. 24 hours in considered the minimum acceptable heat pump time for heating. Intermittent heating, or heating only when the pool is being used saves energy, costs, water evaporation and greenhouse emissions. Residential Pools should be no longer than 24 hours. Commercial Pools can be 48 hours.
